Pond Border Rejuvenation

I brought in Marie and the Plews team to consult on some very neglected apple trees and the effect of their roots on a retaining wall which holds one side of a pond.

The result of this conversation was that the trees would need careful pruning over several years to restore but that there was a more immediate issue with a rapidly spreading clump of bamboo!

This in turn lead to a redesign of the border, the lifting and resetting of the pond (to remove said bamboo) and a planting scheme that was both wildlife and cat friendly, while providing year-round colour and interest.

Watching two grown men chase frogs and newts was a distinct bonus! I now have a retaining wall that isn’t being damaged by bamboo, some beautiful, well bearing fruit trees and a stunning border that I love to look at and walk around every day.
